Wedding Gowns in Dubai: Boutique and Buying Checklist
Wedding Gowns & Dresses · May 11, 2016
Shopping for a wedding gown in Dubai becomes easier when you separate inspiration from the practical order. A boutique may offer dresses from stock, designer samples, made-to-order sizes, made-to-measure gowns or rental. Each option has a different lead time, fitting process and return policy.
Use this checklist before paying a deposit. Collections and boutique availability change, so confirm every dress and service directly with the supplier.

Set the brief before appointments
Start with the wedding date, venue, likely weather, ceremony requirements and total dress budget. Include alterations, shoes, veil, undergarments, accessories, steaming and storage—not only the ticket price of the gown.
Save a small group of references that show what you like about silhouette, neckline, sleeve, fabric and movement. A useful appointment is about finding what works on you, not recreating every saved photograph.
Understand how the gown is supplied
Off-the-rack or sample gown
You buy the dress you try on. Inspect the fabric, fastenings, beadwork and hem, and ask whether cleaning and repairs are included.
Made-to-order
The boutique orders a standard designer size and alters it when it arrives. Ask how the size is selected and what happens if your measurements change.
Made-to-measure or custom
The gown is created or adapted to your measurements and brief. Confirm the sketch, fabric, embellishment, number of fittings and approval stages in writing.
Rental
Confirm which alterations are permitted, how the dress is cleaned, the security deposit and the collection and return times.
Bridal boutique questions
- Is this exact gown available to order in my required size?
- What is the estimated arrival date and what can delay it?
- Which fittings and alterations are included?
- Who is responsible if the dress arrives late or differs from the order?
- Are the veil, sleeves, overskirt or accessories separate?
- What are the deposit, cancellation and exchange terms?
- When is the final fitting and collection?
- How should the gown be stored and transported?
Fit for a Dubai wedding
For outdoor celebrations, consider heat, walking surfaces and how long the train can be managed. For religious or family ceremonies, discuss desired coverage early; detachable sleeves, jackets or overskirts may provide flexibility across events.
Test sitting, walking, stairs and dancing during fittings. Bring the planned shoes and undergarments before the hem and bodice are finalised.

Final collection check
Inspect the gown in good light. Check the zip or fastenings, hem, straps, cups, seams and embellishment. Photograph how the bustle or detachable pieces work and ask who to contact if a final adjustment is required.
