Wedding Planning Guide for UAE Couples
Wedding Planning · July 2, 2025
Start with the decisions that shape every quotation. A wedding plan becomes much easier to manage when both partners can see the priorities, budget, guests, contracts and deadlines in one place.
Step 1: Agree what matters most
Each partner should name the three parts of the wedding they care about most. Compare the lists and agree where quality matters, where compromise is acceptable and which family or cultural elements are essential.
Step 2: Set a working budget
Record who is contributing, when funds are available and which costs are fixed. Include venue, food, service charges, taxes, attire, décor, photography, entertainment, transport, stationery, gifts and contingency.
Do not build the plan around supplier starting prices. Ask for written quotations using the same guest count, hours and scope.
Step 3: Estimate the guest list
Create likely, possible and unlikely groups. The likely number is the useful starting point for venue capacity and cost. If many guests will travel, test dates and room costs before confirming the venue.
Step 4: Verify the legal route
The legal marriage and the celebration may happen at different times or places. Check current requirements with the relevant UAE court, authority, embassy or religious institution. Do this early enough that documents do not control the wedding schedule unexpectedly.
Step 5: Choose the date window and venue
Compare several dates where possible. Ask venues for the seated capacity using the actual stage, tables, dance floor and catering layout. Confirm sound limits, supplier access, setup hours, parking, accommodation and an indoor weather alternative.
Use the Dubai venue guide to build a shortlist.
Step 6: Decide how much planning support you need
Full planning, partial planning and wedding-day coordination are different scopes. Share the same event brief with each planner and compare responsibilities, team, fees, supplier commissions, travel and cancellation terms. Browse UAE wedding planners when you are ready to compare.
Step 7: Book suppliers in dependency order
Secure the services that affect the date and event structure first. Read every contract for deliverables, hours, payment dates, substitutions, overtime, cancellation and backup arrangements.
Step 8: Build the guest journey
Map invitation, travel, arrival, ceremony, meals, speeches, entertainment, transport and departure. Check accessibility, children, elderly guests, dietary needs, prayer or quiet space and clear directions.
Step 9: Create a day-of handover
Give one planner, coordinator or trusted person the final schedule, supplier contacts, payment record and decision limits. The couple should not be the routine help desk on the wedding day.
Step 10: Review, then stop adding
Hold final checks with the venue and suppliers, settle the seating and logistics, and freeze optional additions. A clear, comfortable day is more valuable than a last-minute extra that disrupts the schedule.
